July 20
We had our final breakfast before we grabbed our things and loaded the bus. We said our goodbyes and thank yous, giving the employees and Fateh Singh thank you cards. We drove several hours to Jodhpur, where we went straight to lunch. We had lunch at a restaurant called the Stepwell as it is located at a local stepwell. The stepwell is a water well meant to collect rains with ghats that go around the sides leading down to the water. We enjoyed lunch from the top floor with a balcony view that looked out over the stepwell below. After lunch, we took rickshaws to the Mehranghar Fort for an audio tour of the fort-turned-museum. Everyone split into groups and walked around exploring, listening to the audio headsets and taking photographs. The fort was located up on top of a rocky hill and gave wonderful views of the blue city below. We all met back up at the bottom of the fort in the late afternoon and headed out to Jaisalmer, still with a long journey ahead of us. We stopped a couple hours in to have dinner at the Manvar Camps and Resort, which was so beautiful. We got a tour of the establishment while we waited for our food and were taken out back to the wildlife dunes where we looked for antelope and peacocks, but instead saw a wild boar! After dinner, we loaded the bus again to finish the journey to Jaisalmer.
